You know what today is! What’s in the Box Wednesday! So it’s Week 4 and we have a few new vegetables in the box, but mostly ones we’ve already had. Unfortunately we do have Kale and Radishes in this box, so that is a bummer. I’m hoping that we stop getting those very soon since I don’t like it/use it. I hate wasting it, but I will not use it and I don’t know anyone around here that like those!
I used the Shiitake Mushrooms from last week’s box in a Chicken Marsala dish, and it was delicious!

1 Head Green Romaine Lettuce – Certified Organic – Riverview Organics
1 Bunch Pink Beauty Radishes – Certified Organic – Friends Road Organics
1 Bunch Green Kale – Certified Organic – Eagle View Organics
1 Bag Broccoli – Certified Organic – Farmdale Organics
1 Bunch White Baby Hakurei Turnips – Certified Organic – Autumn Blend Organics
1 Bunch White Scallions – Certified Organic – Farmdale Organics
1 Bunch Garlic Scapes – Certified Organic – Outback Farm
1 Bunch Cilantro – Certified Organic – Noble Herbs
I’ve never had Turnips before, so I’m kind of nervous about those. They just don’t look or sound good, in my opinion. LOL! I think something that turns me away is that they look like radishes, but just a different color and a little bigger. What do you do with them? I’ve never had Garlic Scapes either. I’m not sure I really even know what to do with them either, lol. I’ll have to do some research on them and look for some recipes that use them. Have you ever had them?
And add Cilantro to the list of things I don’t like. So this week’s box wasn’t looking so good to me. There was a head of Romaine Lettuce, but that wasn’t really all that much (compared to what we usually get) so we can probably only get a few small side salads out of it instead of larger dinner salads. I love Broccoli (cooked) so that will get used.
And that about sums it up. So I’d give this week’s box a big two thumbs down.
