Girl Scout Cookie Cupcakes from Cupcake Carnivale

Oh hi! Remember me? I know, it’s been a while. But I’m back.  Things have been crazy here, but in a good way. It’s been so fun to watch my little girl grow up. She’s almost 10 months old and she has quite the little personality. She’s also quite the little traveler – we just got back from London and I think she loved it there! We would love to move there, but it’s kind of hard to get a sponsorship to work there. But if anyone has any tips, let me know!!!

We all know I love cupcakes. And I love girl scout cookies. What happens when you put those two together? I will buy all of the cupcakes! My friend and fellow cupcake lover Cupcake Carnivale got his hands on some girl scout cookies and went to town. I was lucky enough to catch up with him vending at Love Park. I was only supposed to go and buy ONE cupcake. But guess what? He made me get ALL SIX OF THEM! Say whaaaaaaat? I guess I’m easily convinced!

So let’s get started. Sadly, this menu was only available for a very short time. So if you ever come across these fabulous cupcakes that he makes, GET THEM ALL!

Thin Mint

Need I say more? We all love this girl scout cookie. And this cupcake tasted just like the cookie. Sadly I had to share this one. I wish I would’ve gotten two!

This one was his signature Valrhona Chocolate Cupcake dipped in a Mint Chocolate Ganache and coated with Thin Mint Cookie Crumbs. It was then topped with a swirl of Belgian Chocolate Buttercream Frosting (I wish I had a tub of this stuff!!!) and garnished with a Thin Mint Cookie. Wowsers. [Read more…]

Sweet Life Bakeshop

There’s a new kid on the block! Sweet Life Bakeshop. This cute little place is not far from my house and it was a beautiful day for a walk so I decided to pay them a visit. I’ve heard great things about their Banana Pudding so I knew I had to stop in and see what else they had. They had a nice assortment of cupcakes, breads, cookies and pudding. Since I know myself, I had to limit the number of things that I bought. I could’ve easily come home with one of everything there, but I limited myself to two cupcakes and the infamous Banana Pudding!

Check out my stash:

Now I must say that it was difficult to wait until after dinner to try the cupcakes. [Read more…]

The Verdict: The Baker’s Jar

Sooooooo. We finally had the chance to try those desserts from The Baker’s Jar that I posted about earlier this week. If you recall, I got the mini-sized Happy Birthday Cake, the mini-sized Mud Cup, the standard-sized Ruby’s Carrot Cake, and the standard-sized Lemon Pie jars.

Real quick – please excuse the quality of these pictures. They are all pictures taken on my iPhone so they aren’t the best quality.

First up was the Happy Birthday Cake.

Happy Birthday Cake Jar

Disclaimer: I added more Sprinkles! There just weren’t enough. I was disappointed with the Happy Birthday Cake Jar, if I’m being honest. The cake was a bit dry and…crunchy? And I definitely wasn’t a fan of that. There were a few bites that were chewy too, which was a bit strange. So I don’t think I’d buy that one again. And that’s disappointing because I LOVE BIRTHDAY CAKE. [Read more…]
