It’s fall, so that means pumpkins, apples and Halloween. I’m not a big fan of Halloween (although my other half is and he LOVES horror movies), but I do love me everything that is pumpkin and/or apple flavored. I haven’t been to an orchard in who knows how long, but I don’t even have to go there because I can make these Apple Cider Donuts from the comfort of my own home.
I was actually surprised at how good these tasty little suckers are. Those mini donuts were the most dangerous since you can just pop one in your mouth and go about your business. The big ones were good because they lasted longer. But truth be told, I shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near these donuts. I’ll eat them all, and you won’t get any. That’s good for me, bad for you.
These are so simple to make. They are baked, not fried, so that means they are healthy for you, right? That’s what I tell myself as I eat the entire batch. I pretty much had on hand everything that I needed for this. I bought some Boiled Cider from King Arthur Flour a while back, and I’ve been jonesin’ to use it. You can make your own, but I decided to buy mine. The boiled cider really gives these donuts a fabulous flavor.
Let’s get to it.
I dare you to only take a bite. I usually just pop the whole thing in my mouth.
But what happens when you drizzle with a little bit of Salted Caramel?
You try not to eat them all!
These donuts are some of my favorite, for sure.
If you make these, you may want to double the recipe if you have to share!
