Skinny latte

One of the awesome perks for working at my company is that they pay for our coffee/tea drinks from Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. There is a gift card for each place, and they are both pretty much loaded up with unlimited funds. When you want a latte, coffee, frapp, iced green tea, etc you just grab the card and go on your merry way.

There’s usually a crew that goes to Starbucks in the morning, and one that goes in the afternoon. We need to be caffeinated twice a day to handle all of this work…lol!

So yesterday I joined the afternoon crew (I run on Dunkin in the morning for my coffee!). I ordered a tall nonfat cinnamon dolce latte. I prefer the latte made with 2% milk, but let’s face it – I don’t need those extra calories. The girl asked if I wanted the sugar free syrup, and I said NO! I want the regular syrup.

So I get back to my office with my drink and I take a sip. EWWWWWWW. They used that sugar free crap. Ugh. It totally ruined the entire drink. I’d gladly take the stairs up 22 flights of stairs to my office if that meant never having to drink that sugar free garbage again. Apparently it’s a “skinny latte” – ick.

Please tell me one thing – Who drinks this crap and thinks it tastes good?!

I swear to you that motor oil would’ve tasted better to me. It left this super nasty after taste in my mouth. I couldn’t even drink it. I hope the trash enjoyed it, because I sure as hell didn’t.

Let's talk Donuts!

[picture courtesy of King Arthur Flour]

So I recently received a few donut pans and some King Arthur Flour donut mixes as a gift! I’m looking forward to baking my own donuts and making some yummy icing to go on top! How fun!

First off let me say that I don’t like when donut is spelled “Doughnut” – total pet peeve! :) Now that I have that out of the way…

To kick off the donut party, I will be making King Arthur Flour’s Ultimate Chocolate Donut! It will be topped with the Chocolate Glaze they have listed on their web site.

My other half is a choc-o-holic, so that’s why we’re starting out with the chocolate.

I’ll take some pics and let y’all know how they turn out. We’ll compare them to that pic up there that King Arthur posted, lol!

What is your favorite donut flavor?

Congrats Nancy & Billy!!!!!!

Congrats on the birth of Jane Elizabeth!

Thank you for not flushing…

The picture below may be a bit hard to read, but this was a sign on the door to the bathroom stall in Kohl’s.

I would like to know exactly where you’re supposed to put the tampons then?

LOL

What a beauty.

We got up early on Saturday morning and we went grill shopping at Lowe’s. We had a gas grill at our last place, but I got it in 2002 and needless to say it was time to say goodbye. We moved into our house back on October 1st, and since then we’ve been using this small little charcoal grill.

I thought that I wanted a Weber grill, but when we got to Lowe’s this beauty caught my eye…

It was quite an ordeal to get it home. It involved renting a truck from Lowe’s (for only $19! What a bargain), but we got it home. Since we were renting the truck, we figured why not buy one that was fully assembled? That means less work for us! Well…buying it fully assembled means getting it upstairs and out on the deck! That was also an adventure! There’s never a dull moment with us!

So needless to say, we’re on a grilling kick. I swear we have about 30 lbs of meat in the freezer. On the menu for tonight is Quesadillas on the grill! There will be your choice of steak or chicken, with grilled green peppers, grilled onions, and cheese.

Today's lunch

Today’s lunch features a turkey hot dog (leftover from dinner last night), Velveeta Shells & Cheese, and Apple Slices with Yogurt Fruit Dip.

This will also feature a Product Review, since while back I picked up a little individual serving of Velveeta Shells & Cheese made with 2% milk from the grocery store. I figured it would be good to take into work for lunch, to go as a side dish.

All you have to do is add some water and microwave for 3 1/2 minutes, and then once it’s done you add the packet of cheese and stir. Let it melt and you’re good to go.

I thought it was pretty good. It was very cheesy. I didn’t think it was as good as the regular Velveeta Shells & Cheese, but then again this is a quick microwave job, ya know? Would I get it again? Sure, why not. It was a nice side dish to go with my turkey hot dog and my apples with yogurt fruit dip. And since Carlos thinks you can’t eat anything other than French Fries or Onion Rings with Hot Dogs or Hamburgers, this isn’t something I’d have at home to accompany a hot dog for dinner! LOL!

Mmmmm, Apples with Yogurt Fruit Dip.
