Pomegranates

What’s your favorite thing to do with a Pomegranate?

Last night I made a lovely glaze out of some fresh pomegranate juice (pomegranates came from Panache Food), fresh orange juice, lemon juice, lemon zest,  Garces Trading Company pomegranate vinegar and a little brown sugar.  Then I drizzled it over top of some chicken – yum!

Verizon follow-up

So I spoke with a lady in the Escalations Department, and she’s going to help me out! Yay.  So we will not have to pay an Early Termination fee.  So glad this is taken care of and out of the way! :)

*tap tap* is this thing on?

wow. remember me? i haven’t updated this bad boy in ages. honestly, i didn’t even look at the date of my last post. it’s been that long! i’m a bad blogger, as i figured i would be.

but there’s been lots going on in the one curly fry household that has kept me busy. we put our house on the market and we’re moving (once it sells). holy stress, batman! i absolutely HATE selling a house. this is my first time, and i don’t recommend it.

we’re going to move from the ‘burbs into the big city, so we’re really excited. we’re just ready for the house to sell and to close this chapter of our lives. we’re ready to begin the new chapter.

so in the mean time, we’ve been selling stuff on craigslist (can’t wait til that’s over!) and i’ve been stocking up on groupon deals for different restaurants/food places/etc down in the city. we bought quite a few and can’t wait to use them once we move! click the link above to sign up for groupon – it’s so neat! they have some awesome deals. i know i’ve mentioned it before – and i’m saying it again! :p

hopefully the next time i update i can say that my house in under contract…*fingers crossed*

My newest kitchen gadget

This thing is awesome. It’s the latest gadget that I HAD to have. I saw this in the Williams-Sonoma catalog, and it’s called a Calzone Mold. So of course I had to take a field trip to the mall to buy one.

And let me tell you – this sucker is wonderful! When I would make Calzones and Stromboli in the past, they were always different sizes and usually a complete mess. This bad boy makes sure that they are the same size, and just makes the process go much smoother.

It was only $12 and worth every penny.

liveweatherblogs.com

I just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about a weather blog that I absolutely love.  Rob Guarino (he used to be a Meteorologist for Fox 29 here in Philly) runs a weather site called “Liveweatherblogs” – it’s an online weather community that gives more than just the forecast, and they go into great detail explaining everything. They are there to educate you and tell you the reasons behind their forecasts.  They teach you about the different models, and they straight up tell you what’s going to happen! When there’s a big storm about to happen, you can often find Rob in the weather chat room chatting with the community members.

This site is wonderful and I’ve learned so much from it. I always look forward to the new blogs posted by Rob, other Mets, and other members.  Check it out!

Fridge

My new fridge finally came last week. So now my appliances match again! So far, I love it. It’s a bit of an adjustment from our last (ugly) fridge, but I’m getting used to it!

Here’s the old, ugly fridge:

And here’s the new, shiny fridge!

Snow

We’re about to get a bit more of that white stuff they call snow. We got 2 feet of snow over the weekend, and now we could get up to 2 more feet of snow. I’m happy to be able to work from home, but sheesh, where am I going to put this snow? We’ve run out of room.

This isn’t a great pic; it’s from my Blackberry. But this is what our deck looked like at 8:30am on Saturday morning – please note that it snowed until about 1pm!

snowy deck

It looks like Mr. CurlyFry has some shoveling to do in his future. I helped shovel on Saturday morning, and he was being bossy! According to him “there’s a science to shoveling” – and apparently I do it all wrong! Fine with me – he can do it all himself.

And then he’ll spend the rest of the day gloating about how wonderful it looks.  Whatever makes him happy…

we moved!

…although you may not have even noticed!

this morning we ended up moving One Curly Fry from blogger to wordpress. so far i’m loving it. it was a fairly smooth transition, and i have a feeling we’ll love it here.

i’m not sure if the rss feeds transfer over or not. same with the whole ‘following’ thing. but if not, there are a few links to your right so that you can subscribe/follow again!
