Who doesn’t love FREE stuff?

So you know I love cupcakes, desserts, sweets and all of that, but I also love FREE STUFF and a GOOD DEAL! And if it’s free, that’s even better? Right? I came across a web site called SaveMore.com. It is something along the lines of Groupon, Living Social, Eversave, etc. When you sign up you get $10 to spend. So that’s a free $10.

I don’t know about you, but I love reusable bags. I use them whenever I go to the store. It’s better for the environment and they hold a lot more than those flimsy plastic bags they supply. Well you can get FREE reusable bags at SaveMore.com.  The shipping isn’t included, but it’s under $5. So it’s still a good deal!

Oh wait, you’d rather have a free bottle of nail polish? Well that’s available also! And shipping is free for that!

All you have to do is go to the web site and put in your email address and that $10 is deposited into your account. So easy!  Just like with all of these other sites, the deals change. So check back often!

Cake & the Bean Stalk

So as you all know, I love to get deals from Groupon, Living Social, Eversave, etc so that I can try out some new places around the city. It’s hard to believe we’ve already been living in the city for 10 months now, and there’s so many places we haven’t been yet. A while ago I bought a Groupon for Cake & the Bean Stalk, which is located at 1112 Locust Street in Philadelphia.

It was a beautiful morning for a walk, so I set out to use my Groupon and check out the place. I had $10 to spend and I was able to get breakfast [Everything Bagel w/ Cream Cheese $2.00], Coffee [price depends on size and what you order], and two desserts to go.  I think that everything was priced very well.

They have a very nice set up. When you go in the door there are some dessert/food cases set up near the register, and the sitting area is separated by a wall, which is nice. There is a little outside patio with chairs if you choose to sit out there, and there are a number of tables inside to choose from. It’s got a really cool vibe. The mismatched chairs at the tables give it a nice look.

They have many different beverages to choose from, as well as a number of freshly baked desserts like cookies, brownies, cakes, and a number of other sweets.  They also have Paninis! I was there a little too early for one though. They often have special deals, so be sure to follow them on Twitter.  I chose the Brownie [$2.50 - and it's quite large; you can choose with nuts or without] and the Blondie [$2.50 - and like the brownie it's quite large] as my to-go desserts.

The Brownie was delicious – nice and fudgy – exactly how I like them!

The Blondie was amazing; It was packed full of Reese’s Pieces!

Colorful chairs & table

Who wouldn’t want to stop in?

Street view

Cake and the Bean Stalk has Free WiFi, so feel free to take your laptop or other mobile device and stop in for a beverage, sandwich and dessert! Definitely pick up a Blondie and a Brownie – they’re amazing!  I’ll definitely stop back in for more desserts, and I want to try some of their iced beverages. It’s hot out there!

DEAL ALERT: Keratin Treatment

I need to go off-topic for a moment. Back in February I posted (see that post here) about how I got the Keratin treatment done at Bernard’s Salon in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. It was a life-changing experience and I don’t know how I survived without the Keratin treatment in the past.  My hair is so much healthier and definitely easier to manage. I’ve been telling myself that in the next month or so it’s time to get another treatment done. I had my first treatment done about 4 months ago, and I feel like it’s getting time for another. Rosa did an amazing job on my hair and I look forward to her doing this process again.

So imagine my happiness when I saw that today’s Groupon is for a Keratin treatment at Bernard’s Salon! Click here to get the awesome deal! You get the Keratin treatment, highlights, and a one-hour blow dry styling for $199! This is an awesome deal.  This deal doesn’t last forever though – you must get it by Thursday June 2nd at 11:59pm. Once the clock strikes midnight the deal is DONE!

The Hot Light is On!

As you know, Krispy Kreme opened up another store in Philadelphia on May 4th, 2011, as I wrote about here.  It’s been packed ever since. The first week or two the line was literally out the door. I’d walk to the corner, see the looooonnnnngggg line, and tell myself I’ll get an original glazed doughnut another day.

When I went to the Open House a few days before their Grand Opening, I tried the Cookies n Cream doughnut (take a look at it here).  I’ve been dreaming of it since. I got one last Friday for breakfast, because I just had to have one. I’ve been trying to get it out of my mind and it’s next to impossible.

Krispy Kreme Philadelphia was nice enough to pass along some coupons for me to share with you. You can print them out (if you click the coupon it will open another window; then print it) and take into either the Center City location (map below) or the Oxford Avenue location.

You can follow Krispy Kreme Philadelphia on Twitter, and be sure to “LIKE” them on Facebook!

An Apology and WWYMW?

First I want to take a moment to apologize for my blog being a hot mess yesterday. The designer that made my background and header images was hosting them on Photobucket, and they are having “issues” to say the least. So I had to wait until last night until she could transfer them over for me. I’m in the process of getting them moved over to my server so we shouldn’t have this issue again.

Okay, now that I have that out of the way – I have a “WWYMW?” – What Would You Make With… question. I got a box of fresh organic produce yesterday from Suburban Organics. LivingSocial offered this deal for $19 and I jumped on it. I didn’t think $19 was bad for a box of fresh organic produce that was delivered right to me! I don’t think I’d pay the normal price ($39), but this was great for a one-time thing.  It was filled with organic fruits and vegetables such as valencia oranges, lemons, fuji apples, braeburn apples, strawberries, yams, russet potatoes, a red onion, button mushrooms, and arugula.  I have plans for everything except the Arugula.

So tell me – what would you make with this big bunch of Arugula?
